Daughters of Heaven – Women’s Support Ministry
The Greater Liberty Baptist Church Daughters of Heaven Women’s Support and Study Group searches the Scriptures in an attempt to identify areas of our lives in need of spiritual development and growth. Bible sessions are held in the fall and spring of each year.
Short Bio for Dr. Yvette Jackson
Morning Facilitator for DOH Conference October 28, 2017
Over the last 25 years, Dr. Yvette Jackson’s professional career has included clinical, academic, and administrative roles. Formally trained as a Social Worker and a Chaplain, she has provided leadership to multiple systems, including the Child Welfare System, the Office of the Attorney General, several Faith-Based Institutions, and numerous educational systems, including Higher Education. In addition to her role as Executive Director of the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF), she currently serves as Affiliated Faculty for Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio where she teaches coursework in the evenings in the Pastoral Care Division. All of her roles in the community have allowed her to work with individuals and families across the lifespan, capturing the gifting of the generations. Each occasion gave her ongoing opportunities to engage multiple processes and disciplines involving the continuity of care for Ohio’s individuals, clients, patients, students, parishioners, families, and communities.
Her former roles as Chaplain and Bereavement Care Coordinator in the Hospital and Hospice Care systems really inform her passion around grief recovery. Life is full of grief and loss, including death but not exclusive to death. Unresolved grief and bereavement can be crippling to any of us and all of us. However, the grief process can also become transformative in our lives, in our families, and in our places of work, worship, and school. The privilege of “coming alongside of individuals, families, and communities in crisis and celebration and empowering them to meet their fullest potential” is a core principle in Dr. Jackson’s legacy. She is delighted and honored to now “come alongside of “ the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, its Board of Directors, its Advisory Committee, staff, consultants, coalitions, and its countless community partners to lead them in the advancement of our vision, mission, and goals as described in the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation 2013-2016 Strategic Plan. Please stay tuned for more E-Newsletters about how you can partner with us to advance this plan.
